New Zealand Science Teacher

Science Education & Society

Inside the science hubs

Rejuvenate your science teaching plans with a closer look at a useful resource.

You are invited to take an inside look at a favourite science resource.

Inside the Hubs is being hosted by the Waikato branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand on March 11, 2014. This free public event aims to make contact with as many science teachers as possible and includes a panel discussion of some of the scientists and educators involved and/or featured on the websites Science Learning Hub and Biotechnology Hub.

Working closely with the real-life science world to create educational websites, the Biotechnology and Science Learning Hubs are rich multimedia resources for New Zealand teachers. Science stories on both hubs are always linked to The New Zealand Curriculum.

Both the Science Learning Hub and Biotechnology Hub are funded by the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment and managed by the University of Waikato.

Event: Inside the Learning Hubs

Date: Tuesday, 11 March

Time: 7pm

Venue: Lecture theatre S.1.02, University of Waikato

For catering purposes, please RSVP by 4 March 2014 to info@rsnzwaikato.org
