Removal of the Code of Practice for School Exempt Laboratories

New Hazardous Substances Regulations came into effect on 1 December 2017. With these regulations superseding those that came before, the Hazardous Substances Codes of Practice is not applicable any more.
The Ministry of Education is currently working with WorkSafe to develop guidance and compliance documents to replace the Code of Practice for School Exempt Laboratories. They suggest schools continue to use the existing Code of Practice, as well as the Ministry’s other guidance to the Code, until the new documents are produced.
